George -- This is a great list. Thanks. And I wish we could explore doing that here. I say, I wish because, well, this is corporate. So, we have two issues. First, the users we need this functionality for are not power users. If it isn't a simple choice, they really aren't going to do it. Trying to get all of them to do something that may be more than a couple of clicks would be difficult. The second problem is that this would mean an additional piece of software. I know a lot of these are free but that's even more problematic. Out IT will have to vet, test, get approvals, etc. If it isn't a license situation, especially if it's free, then it probably isn't going to happen. Thank you. Let me be clear. This FINAL PDF is only for viewing purposes. It's the low resolution PDF we keep on our server. It is not used for output other than electronically. And it would never be used for printed output. But this low rez PDF has particular settings we have created that take into consideration who and how these PDFs are viewed. To be specific, we have set them up so that anyone using an Apple device [iPad or iPhone] can view these without the colors appearing neon rather than correct RGB versions of our brand colors. Well, if InCopy is ONLY an editorial tool, then why can it now export PDFs? And print? Any editorial tool also needs to be able to create appropriate output, doesn't it? Even a typewriter provides you some output. I'm only asking for an expansion of a feature that already exists. As it is now, the InCopy user can select to make a PDF of either the Layout View or the Galley & Story View. The user can also select such things as Pages or Spreads, Optimize for Fast Web View, Embed Thumbnails, etc. So, why not provide a way to load presets that can be chosen? I'm sure it's not that "simple" to do. But considering what functionality is already supplied, it seems clear that Presets could be added. ... View more

So, why is it that InDesign cannot export an animation that Photoshop can open? I'm sorry, but that is plain stupid. Forcing people to create their animated GIFs totally in Photoshop is one more reason not use Adobe products. At least give Media Encoder the ability to take the SWF or FLA file and covert it to MOV. So, instead of creating a nifty animation in InDesign to convert to an animated GIF, I will use a non-Adobe product — in this case, Keynote — to do just that. Yeah, I end up using Photoshop to do the conversion from MOV to animated GIF. But maybe I will be looking for other non-Adobe solutions as well. @Adobe — You keep saying you are improving products for the users, but you are not. There's this problem.
